GREAT GOLF STUFF
Why? Because I love Golf! Do you?
Lets start with
a great opportunity for Amateur Golf Tournaments
I have played on this tour since 2007 and it has been a great experience. This tour use to be known as the Golf Galaxy Tour. Golf Galaxy recently decided to sponsor the Golf Channel Amateur Tour now instead. A local person in Eden Prairie, MN started this company 5 years ago and it has become a huge success. They have tours in almost every major city in the U.S. They have now changed their name to fit the city. So Twin Cities tour is for the Minneapolis/St. Paul and surrounding area tour. Chicago Tour is for Chicago, an so on. These events usually draw decent players that are not semi pro and the atmosphere is very good, not overly competitive. It's all about fun on this tour. At the end of the season they have a national tour championship somewhere in the U.S. where people from all over the U.S. come to compete for the national title. It is a lot of fun and I have made many good friends and business partners because of it. Come check it out. You can sign up for each event individually and most events are on Saturday mornings. They also have weekday events. Tell'em Simon sent you!
Next I would like to focus on products. Where to buy at large discount, and who makes great products:

The PGA Tour Superstore is an untapped great place to
buy apparel, gloves, pga tour logo products, etc. They have everything for the
game! They have a few actual brick and mortar stores, but they are in the south.
So I order mostly online. If you click the PGA Tour logo it will take you to the
store. They have discounted apparel all the time, they have access to PGA event
logo product as well. Check it out!
One of the best places I recently found that sells preowned
TaylorMade products. They are directly affiliated with TaylorMade and offer
everything from well used products to brand new unhit products that cannot be
sold as new. Example is that it has a blemish on the crown or something. TM
certifies the product, regrips if necessary and has a rating system they assign
each club. They also rewarranty the product for 1 year. Their web site is easy
to navigate and filled with great deals. Only issue, if you want a photo of the
exact product you are out of luck. I called and asked. They do not offer at this
time. I now after many years of buying different clubs have realized that I have
a full bag of TM clubs. Putter to Driver all TM. Minus a few wedges, Titleist
being one. There is a reason for why i have all TM clubs at this point in my
life. Broken repairs, quality, ease of hitting, are just some of the reasons I
use this brand of club. They are fantastic from the company to the product. Pure
Gold.....
Could not get a logo, but another great discount web store. This company has everything for the game and often has sales on everything. Shoes for 75% off retail. All kinds of good stuff. Check out sales and clearance section. All good things at this site.
Equipment that absolutely kills its' competition. The Skycaddie GPS handheld
units are phenomenal. I have owned 2 of their units, the SG4 and the SG5. The
New SGX is about to go on sale March 15th, 2010. They have in unit scoring,
GIR, and putts per round that you can enter and store. They have a new Club site
where you can list a profile and list your equipment and rate it. The new SGX
will have communication between your club and itself in case you leave a club
behind it will tell you. Might even show you where since it has full GPS in it.
These products along with Sky Golf have revolutionized the way amateurs play the
game. Full hole views, 3D greens (showing slopes and size), and distance to
everything on the course practically. Sky Golf continues to push forward in all
aspects of their product and the game. They often have upgrades for their
handhelds and computer software (needed to download courses). There is an annual
fee to download courses that is nominal and most upgrades have been free. Much
like I-POD upgrades are. The new SGX will come preloaded with courses, but the
extra course info will be what you get for the annual fee now. The SG5 can hold
20 courses and your annual fee gets you all the features from all the courses.
The unit has never failed me. This product is for sure a must for any golfer
that cares about their game.
They even have their own free ads. Click the "Stories of
Trust" to see what Facebook has done for Titleist. Titleist put this
together I have no clue when and it is brilliant. I would say one of the best
balls in golf, if not thee best. I have tried many balls with the same cost,
Callaway i series, TM Red and Black TP, same cost, not same feel. Ask for it by
name, The Pro-V1 or 1x. The BEST ball ever made to current date. I just wish
they would lower the cost.
Last but not least is one of my favorites, EBAY! No taxes, great
people, great products, a mecca of options old and new. EBay has revolutionized
the way people shop. I have never been burned on eBay. I sell and buy. I sell
clubs, buy others, and net pay next to nothing for new items. I have found so
many good deals on eBay. I have found older clubs, like a maranello 8-01 TP
putter brand new that I love and it was shown to me by a Pro. Luckily did a
search and one day it was up for sale and I was notified. I think I paid maybe
$75 for it. Which in its day probably cost $200. Great deals! Shoes are great to
buy here. Clothes not so much. Clubs, bags yes. Balls no. Not much else I can
say but if you are not looking here first you are a fool.
A great product invented by a friend of mine Ben F. Caddyswag is
by far the best golf bag cooler I have ever seen. It can have custom logo's
applied. It holds up to six 12oz cans in it. Comes with a special liquid ice
packs that can be kept in a freezer ready for action. Stays cool for many hours.
Great for the beach, ball games, an any other out door event where cold
refreshments are needed. All around great product. Click the link to be brought
to his site for purchase.
Hands down the greatest golf discount site I have found. You can
get shoes brand new for less. This years shoes, wait 6 months and wack 25% off
or more. They have cloths, gloves, luggage, etc all discounted from retail.
Great site. Check it out!
